School Supply Deals, thru 07/25

That time of year is upon us, Back to School, can you believe it??? I have been taking part in back to school supply sales for several years now but this year will be the first one where I will actually have a child that needs these supplies for school. In the past I stocked up on items like Crayola Crayons for 5¢/box and put them in the goody bags for my son's birthday parties - it was way nicer than anything he ever got in a goody bag plus it was way cheaper. I also stocked up on spiral notebooks for 5¢/each, pens, pencils, pocket folders with brads & more that I got for FREE!! I contributed to several local school supply drives and donated items to neighbors who had school-aged children. If you don't have a child in need of school supplies but have the time to gather up the savings you should check your local charities, schools and churches to see if you can donate the items that you score for FREE or almost FREE. They will really appreciate it, you will feel great and you might be able to get a Income Tax Receipt to boot!

New to shopping at Central Market? Click here to learn the ins & outs of shopping at CM.

I talked with CM this morning regarding the home mailer coupons and found out that in lieu of the coupons they are dropping the everyday price on various items throughtout the store. I was at CM Tuesday night and didn't notice any changes in price but that doesn't mean they didn't drop them. I am still sad over the home mailer coupons, if this makes you as unhappy as it has me then PLEASE call your local CM and let the Store Manager know, they want to keep their customers happy and should welcome your comments as mine did.

** Don't forget to bring your own bags & remind the cashier to give you 5¢ back on each bag you bring in & use. This doesn't have to be the reusable bags it can be plastic bags from any store. I roll my used plastic bags then store them in empty tissue cubes. I keep a cube full of bags in my car so that if I forget my reusable bags I at least have these plus they are always handy when you have kids. When your plastic bags get holes don't forget to recycle them at Albies! **

Fiesta 07/22 - 07/28/09

My Fiesta does not double/triple coupons and will not take Internet coupons. They do however have their own coupon book (at times) that you can get at the front of the store or at the customer service desk. They have no loyalty card so the deals you see below are good for all. Click here to locate your closest Fiesta.

I try to make as few grocery trips as possible so I take part in Wal-Mart's price matching policy when I can. The number one ad that I price match is Fiesta, they are out of my way and since they don't take IP's (Internet printables) and Wal-Mart does I can normally get better deals. Even though Fiesta doesn't take IP's I will list any match-ups that I find in case you want to price match at Wal-Mart like I do. Keep in mind Wal-Mart will not price match BOGO sales or store brand prices.

Here are the best deals that I see for this week:

* Produce Department *

~ Red or White Grapes - $0.99/lb

~ Del Monte Gold Pineapple - $1.99/each
Use <$0.50> here = $1.49
(Price Match at Wal-Mart, Fiesta won’t take IP)
(Cheaper at Albertson's this week)

~ Washington Cherries - $1.99/lb

~ Peaches - $0.79/lb

~ Strawberries, 1-lb - $1.99/each

~ Cello Lettuce - $0.99/each

~ Red or Gold Delicious Apples - $0.20/each

~ Salad Tomatoes - $0.79/lb

~ Lemons - $0.14/each

~ Baby Carrots, 1-lb bag - $0.99/each

~ Russet Potatoes, 5-lb bag - $1.49/each
(That's 30¢/lb)
(Cheaper at Sack 'n Save/Minyard this week)

~ Plantain - $0.59/lb

* Grocery Department *

~ Masabrosa Masa Mix, 4.4-lb bag - $0.99, limit 1 with $10 purchase
Use <$0.25> Fiesta Coupon Book = $0.74

~ Fritos or Cheetos, 10.2-11 oz - $1.89/each
(Cheaper at Tom Thumb wyb 5 thru 07/28)

~ Hamburger Helper, 5.6-9 oz - $0.99
Use <$0.75>/3 05/31 (exp. 07/25) or 06/07 SS = $2.22/3 or $0.74 each
(Cheaper at Albertson's this week)

That's all I have on my shoppin' list for the week but if you are looking for more Fiesta deals head over to Mommy's Wish List and see what Lea Ann has cooked up for ya. Thanks, Lea Ann!

That's all folks! Leave a comment and let me know how you did, I will try to post my shopping trip deals later.

I am proud to have my CVS post on BeCentsAble's Grocery Gathering!

FYI

Hi, all! Just wanted to let you know that I am still trying to find a look for Happy Couponing that I LOVE plus it HAS to be functional for you and me both! I didn't like how the last layout only underlined some links and not all, I have no idea why this was happening. I also didn't like that when I tried to make my shopping list from the match-up posts it acted "funky" when I tried to highlight & copy so I reverted back to the old layout until I find something that I like better. Hang in there, it's all a learning process!!

Have a great Sunday!!!
