** Don't forget to bring your own bags & remind the cashier to give you 5¢ back on each bag you bring in & use. This doesn't have to be the reusable bags it can be plastic bags from any store. I roll my used plastic bags then store them in empty tissue cubes. I keep a cube full of bags in my car so that if I forget my reusable bags I at least have these plus they are always handy when you have kids. When your plastic bags get holes don't forget to recycle them at Albies! **

  1. hi, just found your blog; I'll be sure to read it each week. Last week I did not have to buy in quantities of 10 to get their sale price, hope its the same this week too!

  3. I'm sure it won't matter to many as this is the last day of this week's sales, but the Vaseline Albertson's coupon is for a larger size than the 10 oz one in this week's ad.

Has anyone tried to use the two charcoal coupons together? The $6 one says it's a savings on the pork while the $4 is off the charcoal. Just wondering if I can use both along with the buy charcoal get BBQ sauce free coupon.

  4. Hi, JenniferM! Ah you are right! It is for the larger size. Thanks for pointing that out.

You can always try the coupons together and see what works but when stacking coupons like you have suggested doing I find it to not really follow any set guidelines. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I would say that since the $6 is off pork, the $4 is off charcoal and the other is for BBQ sauce it should all work out. Let me know if it does!

  6. fyi - I bought 5 boxes of the Nature Valley Granola bars and did not get a CAT for it. So the number must be higher than 5. ;) Either that or it ended before I bought them - I shopped on Sunday.

  7. Maybe I can help on the charcoal coupon question. I don't have any of them in front of me...but I can tell you this...if you look at the manufacturer's code (the 5 digits on the left side of the *smaller* barcode - not counting the leading 5), it will match up to the manufacturer's code (same location on the item's barcode) that the computer will verify against. I know the $6 charcoal/pork coupon verifies against the charcoal ONLY - I've used it several times. It does NOT verify against any of the other requirements on the coupon. Since a barcode can only be coded for 1 manufacturer, computer systems can only verify the purchase(s) from 1 manufacturer. The verification is left to the cashier - and this coupon has never beeped for cashier intervention for me. :)

  8. Well, I can't check the bar codes any more as I just came back from using them, but the good news is that it worked. I got charcoal for $3, BBQ sauce for free, and $8 worth of pork for $2.

I used the $4 off first, then the free sauce which beeped wanting the exact amount. The cashier looked skeptically at the pork coupon and then it didn't work, but the manager showed her something and then she said she just pushed the wrong buttons.

I did notice, though, that the "pork" coupon showed on my receipt as $$ off the charcoal.
