Albertson's is Coming...

I am unbelievably slow in getting Albies ad up due to the fact that their ad is mostly all BOGO's. Normally I can score some really great deals when they have this sale and I am planning on getting up there this weekend to check the prices and will post the coupon match-ups later. Sorry to make you shop on the last days of the sale. Stay tuned....

FREE Easy Bakeware

My blogger-friend, Rachel over at Surviving the Stores, found this deal and like her I was skeptical so I tried it first before I blogged about it but looks like it's legit so here you go.

Click here to get one free item from Easy Bakeware for FREE with only $1 shipping!

Rachel outlined it so well here are her instructions:

1) Click here to go to the Easy Bakeware site or on the pic in my sidebar.

2) Pick the item that you want to get (there are all kinds of items to choose from)

3) Fill in your information to check out and check $1 shipping (you have to check $1 shipping to see the details of #4 - DON'T enter your credit card info until you see the details in #4 and #5 below)

4) You will be automatically enrolled in a trial (7-day) membership to one of four companies (I was enrolled in Stay Safe). This is how they are able to offer the products for free with $1 shipping because they get paid by these companies for everyone who does the free trial.

5) MAKE SURE to write down the phone number in the details for canceling (it is in the right column on the page). They will charge your credit card a monthly charge of $14.95 or $19.95 in 7 days if you do not cancel.

6) MAKE SURE to write down the phone number in the details for canceling (it is in the right column on the page). They will charge your credit card in 7 days if you do not cancel. (Yes, I put this in twice for a reason!)

7) Place your order!

I called the cancellation number immediately after I placed the order and canceled very easily. I didn't even have to talk to a real person to cancel... it was all automated.

So you get whatever awesome product you choose for $1! Yay!

FYI: If you don't want the hassle of canceling the enrollment, you can pay $7.95 for shipping (still much less than one of the pans at the store).

Coupon for $20 off your Vet Visit

In these challenging economic times, many pet owners are facing difficult choices about how to pay for and prioritize their pets’ care and wellness. And unfortunately, veterinary visits and preventive veterinary care are often cut due to financial struggles and concerns. The Help Your Pet, Get to the Vet program through Bayer Health Care, the makers of Advantage, is here to help!

Click here to receive a Mail-in Rebate form for $20 off vaccinations, wellness exams, flea and tick treatment and prevention, heartworm preventative & dental care for your pet. They only give out 1,000 vouchers a day (80 per hour) starting February 16 through February 28, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM ET every hour on the hour. More than $250,000 in Veterinary Vouchers will be awarded. No purchase necessary to obtain voucher. Any and all vets "accept" the voucher because it is just a little form they fill out and then you attach your receipt, mail it in by May 31, 2009 and then wait for your $20 rebate check.

I suggest filling out the form and then waiting until the new hour strikes before hitting send. You must have your printer set up and ready to go because you only get one shot per computer. I tried at 6:00 PM on Wednesday and had no trouble but from what I have been reading they are hard to come by, if you get one leave me a comment and let me know.

How did I get started

I have been getting asked quite a bit,
"So how in the world did you get started doing this?"

It all began on a chilly day back in late 2004.... (LOL!)
My husband, Larry Don, was changing positions in his company and for the first 3 months of his new job it would be about a $30k/year pay cut then it would pick up. When he told me that I was freaked! I am a stay-at-home Mom so we are a single income family and come on $30K is a lot of money! I was telling my Mom about this new position and she suggested that I use her Sunday inserts and start clipping coupons to save money until his salary stabilized. I reluctantly agreed. After flipping through the pages of coupons I started looking at the CVS ad for whatever reason and at that time I had never even been inside a CVS!!! The horror!! I noticed in the ad that there was a Venus Razor on sale for $1.99 and I thought that's a good deal and then I remembered that in one of those inserts was a coupon for $2.00 off any Venus Razor! Holy Smokes, Batman! Am I going to be able to turn in this little piece of paper and get a Venus razor?? Well the answer to that is YES! I look back and laugh now at how nervous I was but the checker of course acted like it was no big deal and just said, "Miss, here is your change" Change??? What?? Yup I got the penny back, I was hooked! I jumped right in full force and only stopped for a brief time while I was miserably sick with our second child and then nursing and you know what I didn't have to buy toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, shampoo, conditioner, stylers etc. the entire time! I started up again in July of 2008 and it just keeps getting better and better. My friend, Chasity, was wanting to learn my "secrets" so I had her over one day, gave her the 411 and then took her to Walgreen's and CVS for a little shoppin' and she was hooked too. She discovered this entire online world of couponing that has really changed my life and how I shop. So in February of 2009 after lots of encouragement from my family and friends I started Happy Couponing as a way to help want-to-be couponers make the most of their dollars spent at the grocery, drug and mass merchant stores. I hope you enjoy my blog and leave me a comment anytime to let me know what you think!

NEVER PAY FOR THIS STUFF AGAIN!!

A lot of people have been asking me about getting stuff for FREE & basic Couponing 101,

* Why is saving $0.35 with a coupon going to really save me money?
First, $0.35 is $0.35 but at most stores that will triple to $1.05 and for instance Softsoap Liquid Hand Soap or Totonio's Pizza Rolls are on sale all the time for a $1 so you guessed it, totally FREE with that coupon!

* I don't use most of the items that I see coupons for in the Sunday papers, so this won't work for me right?
Yes and no, if you refuse to try let's say Crest toothpaste because you are a Mentadent girl/boy then no you will have to pay for TP for the rest of your life but come on TP is TP, who really cares? I sure don't and every penny counts so we are not loyal to brands anymore, whatever I get for FREE or cheap is what we use. Of course I have my splurges like my make-up but when I am just running up to CVS for a little shopping I swap my Dior mascara for whatever I recently got FREE. Go ahead let loose you have nothing to loose, everything to gain and you just might find that you are willing to forgo your favorite brands for whatever you have on hand to be able to pay off that credit card debt, take a vacation, quit working and stay at home with your kids or whatever your personal finincial goal is and you just might find that you like the lesser brand better!

* How much time does this take?
To get the answer for this question I tested my own site, I printed my post for Tom Thumb, highlighted the deals that I wanted to do & pulled the coupons - that took me about 15 minutes. Next I went to the store (with both of my kids so take off 10 minutes just for that!) got the items, checked out, loaded the car and was back in the drivers seat in 32 minutes. So 45 minutes and I saved over $100 bucks!

Below is a list of items that I refuse to pay for and I mean even if it's a penny!

Wal-Mart Trip 02/14/09

In case you are unaware Wal-Mart has a policy where they will price match the current ads of their competitors. I use this policy at least once a week since I am not crazy about Walgreen's Mail-In Rebates or Register Rewards programs. Wal-Mart will match the after MIR (mail-in rebate), ECB (CVS's Extra Bucks) or RR (Walgreen's Register Rewards) price so you have less out of pocket cost. They will not match the CVS & Walgreen's deals that are FREE after ECB, RR or MIR. Also if there is a limit or purchase requirement (must spend $10 or must buy so many to get the sale price) Wal-Mart does not enforce that. Here is what I got at Wal-Mart using the price matching policy:
